Overview

The Caddy team is building a text-based AI assistant, and needed an identity and story that could connect with a wider audience beyond early adopters. We saw a chance to surface what was most compelling about the company and the product: an intuitive, personal and fun way to use AI. We defined Caddy’s point of view around the idea that AI should make work feel lighter. This is a refreshing contrast to the incessant promises of transformation, unlimited knowledge, and maximum potential in the category. These are messages that can feel very heavy for those who just want a simple way in. Caddy offers a much lighter way to get the benefits of AI help – plus, you can customize Caddy however you like! From there, we developed the brand’s identity, and carried the brand’s core idea into the first product interactions.

From there, we developed the brand’s identity, and carried the brand’s core idea into the first product interactions.

brand identity

To bring Caddy’s strategy to life, we created a visual and verbal identity that feels inviting, light, and thoughtful. It’s an expression of a good day, where work, life, and family are all happening around you, but things feel breezy. Like someone took a heavy backpack off your shoulders.

The identity also invites people to make Caddy their own. The mark was designed to be instantly recognizable in large and small contexts, but still open enough to personalize. That flexibility makes Caddy feel fun, while reinforcing the unpretentious spirit at the center of the brand.

Product-Brand Integration

To deliver a coherent experience, the brand had to show up in product storytelling, and in the product too. We developed a product narrative connecting Caddy’s brand promise to make work lighter with the specific ways it can help people stay on top of work and life today.

We also defined how Caddy shows up in the product – creating customizable elements such as Caddy’s in-product personality and look. Together with the product design team, we then brought these elements into onboarding.
